To do so, we maximized the compatibility of the cel shader to the Unity's original standard materials. Rather than creating new materials and replacing original materials by them, to apply cel shading, users just need to replace shaders of original standard materials. All the maps and settings used by the original material are transferred to our cel shader.
High-quality Post Process OutlinerJiffycrew Cel Shading provides a high-quality post process outliner. It detects silhouettes and creases. The width and color of those lines are changed separately. The outliner also supports anti-aliased subpixel lines.
Changing shapes of highlightsIn tuning cel shading, one big headache is handling highlights. Often they are circles or ellipses, while the underlying surface is rectangular. Jiffycrew Cel Shading implements a famous computer graphics research paper "Stylized Highlights for Cartoon Rendering and Animation" to let users to transform highlights.
